laptop comparison

I bought the new Macbook Air this week. Here’s how it compares to the old one when loading Photoshop. (The older one is shiny because I slapped a Zagg Invisible Shield on it)

Here’s a video comparison of the latest gen 2010 Dell Latitude E4310 13.3″ Widescreen business-class laptop and the Latitude E6410 14.1″ widescreen business-class laptop. I’m sure there are those out there trying to decide between the two so hopefully this video can help.

I’m terribly sorry but he’s right, the macbook air is ridiculously thin, your not gonna fit tht kinda shit u get in a gaming laptop in the air, unless your looking to crush expensive hardware so it doesn’t work at all???

  2. IT WAS LESS THAN 4 SECONDS YOU BASTARD!

  3. @skittb89 Ur not alone….actually I dont like the silver/black combo at all !!

  4. thesavage042 says:

Dude , im not trying to prove that im smarter than you , you above all people should know that 5400rpm hardrives are still Standard in Laptops in 2011 , your comparing an early 2000 Desktop Hardrive which happens to be HUGE back in the day . with a 2009 4200rpm LAPTOP hardrive , which happens to be really small to fit in a macbook air , i say it again Rip off to you , Win for someone else , no one is forcing you to get a macbook , so stop Bitching about it

  7. chronofusion says:

@roxasnobody9 are ya done TRYING to prove (and failing pathetically) that you WISH you were intellectually superior to me with only SEMI coherent situations? The point i made was obvious. putting 2000′s tech into a 2009 laptop =MASSIVE RIP OFF. plain and simple. ” dis iz a joke” ? im sorry i only understand ENGLISH not EBONICS which is not a language. and the 4200 rpm hdd’s WERE NOT thin enough to put in notebook computers. the 5400′s were the first to be shrunk small enough. research kid.

  8. roxasnobody9 says:

    @chronofusion
lol , you said it yourself “over 40 gaming computer” as in Huge Desktops ,

That 2009 macbook air , is THIN , back then 4200rpm could have come in small sizes , small enough to fit in that thin Laptop , your ignorance made you compare a GAMING COMPUTER with a ULTRA THIN LAPTOP .

its like me saying : OMFGWTFBBQ DA 1 TERRA HDD IN LAPTOPS IS 5400 RPM LOLWUT , MY HUGE 2 TERRA BYTE HARDRIVE IN MAH GAMING COMPUTER IS 7200RPM OMGWTF BBQ HAHA DIS IZ A JOKE .

  9. chronofusion says:

LOL. the 2009 model of an apple computer has a freaking 4200 rpm drive..PLEASE tell me that is a joke? ( i’ve custom built more than 40 gaming computers since 2001). 5400 rpm hdd’s have been around since 2000 wtf!? LOL. that’s pathetic, apple. that’s like putting an old 1970′s volkswagon beetle engine in a freaking toyota tesla car made to house an electric engine=fucking stupid. this video is not the failure..IF this is true…apple is. WAY overpriced hardware=FAILURE apple!.

  10. i don’t like the black edge below the screen on the new one.

  11. FAZYLUCK3R says:

@MasterMINDChad can you cut a cake with your laptop? I THINK NOT.

  12. MrTechMan800 says:

  13. MasterMINDChad says:

LOL, my PC loads PS just as fast and I didn’t have to pay $2k for it… just sayin’

  23. Has anyone found drivers for the biometric fingerprint reader on the E6410? PLEASE HELP!

  24. thatcrazygurl1 says:

where’s ‘print screen’ button on dell latitude e4310 and how do you screen print ?

  25. mohamadutube says:

Excellent review , thx man i really made up my mind & i m buying an E4300 tomorrow . thx to you …

  26. CathodeRayTube100 says:

    You forgot the following differences:
-E6410 offers 1440×900 on the screen. E4310 is stuck on 1366×768.
    -Keyboard layout (E6410 has 7-row, E4310 is 6-row)
-E6410′s CD drive is removable. You press on the black button on the right side and it pops out. E4310′s Cd drive doesn’t. The only advantage is that you can replace the CD drive with a second hard disk.

  27. miwycislik says:

Is there any possibility to put in a 9-cell battery from E6410 to E4310? I know that the one is not dedicated to the E4310 model but I’m wondering if the battery slot is preety the same? Will it be not very well-fitting but working or there’s no chance for swap lite this? Thanks!

  28. orlandoguzguz says:

there is something nexto to the mouse … and why deas it have alot of bttoon on the top ofthemouse

  29. lucianorockbh says:

@EZTechReview, What you have to say about the duration of the battery of the E4310?

  30. Question: So do the E4310 and E6410 have the same spec? Are they the based model?

  31. I got that E6510 shits smashin dawg. No seriously it’s an amazing machine no doubt. The backlit keyboard is a gift from the computer gods.

  32. Very good review. I gotta ask tho, I’ve heard that the e6410 tends to freeze when coming up from sleep ? (planning to buy it in some months).

  33. awesome comparison vid- thanks a lot

  34. helpyouriphone says:

my intrent isn’t working on the 13 inch one anyone knows why

  35. do you recommend using XP or 7 on the E6410? thanks for the video! it helped me choose the e6410 over the e4310 (well… also i scored it for $580 haha)

  36. bkavadias says:

This was a very helpful review, thank you! My IT dept gave me these exact two computers to choose from, so it was the perfect subject matter for me!

  37. size and battery life do count as part of the portability too
dedicated graphics eat battery like heck
these 2 models are designed for completely different purposes
of course the larger ones you buy the better performance you’d usually get under the same price range, and yet you lose portability at the same time
just as how you can’t blame vaio TT for not being able to handle heavier tasks

  38. Does your E4310 have the backlit keyboard? Can’t tell from the video.

  39. AlamoSimon says:

So what about comparison of the battery runtime? I got my E6410 stolen and so I’m now in the market for a new one and would like something lighter and smaller for everyday carry. I still depend on long battery runtime though.
The 9 cell on the 6410 always gave me about 5h. How long does it run on the 6 cell? And how long does the E4310 run on the 6 cell battery?
    Thanks in advance.

  40. GeniusFromGeniusHell says:

13 ounces is a lot of weight lol. Toss a can of coke on the laptop as you’re holding it. I really appreciate the comparison, though. Was helpful in my decision process. I considered the HP Envy (as mentioned below), but but the construction quality and keyboard were surprisingly cheap feeling, not to mention HP’s worst-in-industry reliability record. Most overrated notebook out there.

  41. EpicPremonition says:

I have a E4310 and have lost the password for my BIOS, I can’t change my BOOT sequence to reinstall windows 7 which has been corrupted! can anyone help me? I have the SERVICE and EXPRESS CODE tag but what do I do with it, I am in the UK

  42. EZTechReview says:

    @dungsoup1 haha, thanks

  43. @EZTechReview – Did you actually weight it or did you use the # from the site?

  44. dungsoup1 says:

I love the lace against the green plaid table cloth. Very hot.

  45. EZTechReview says:

@JeffChen7x8 I haven’t really tested myself since I primarily use a 6cell. I’ve hear that the 9cell will last you about 5-6hrs if you lower the LCD brightness and don’t do too intensive of tasks (just web-browsing or typing in Word, etc.).

  46. EZTechReview says:

    @showtimenir The E6410 with the 6cell weighs 5.25lbs.
